Board Vacancies

Algoma Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Centre is a two faceted agency. Breton House offers a residential setting for women practicing abstinence, and A New Link offer day programs to women who are trying to reduce their substance use. 

The ASARC Board of Directors works with and supports staff of both settings, to ensure program needs are met through decision-making and advocacy for the benefit of those living with substance use disorders in our region. 

Any interested member of the public, 18 years of age or older, can apply. We are looking for candidates that are energetic and skilled in a variety of ways to add to an already string team. This is a volunteer position. 

Commitment

• Met at least nine (9) times a year on the third Thursday of every month from September to June for one (1) hour. Meetings may be held virtually therefore access to a good internet connection is important. Meetings are held at A New Link (126 Queen St E).
• Sit on one or more committees of the board
• Participate in various ASARC events during the year.
• Serve on a two (2) year term

Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who have experience in some of the following fields and as such can provide insight and guidance to the board:

• Interest in/passion for substance use programs
• Marketing/social media/public relations experience
• Program planning and evaluation of program
• Development of strategic plans
• Finance
• Fundraising
• Human Resources
