Breton House - Bed-Based Program
General Information
Breton House is a bed-based low to moderate abstinence treatment facility for women 19 years of age or older. Breton House offers eight (8) beds which includes six (6) individual rooms and one (1) shared room. Once admitted to the program residents are required to take part in all groups including but not limited to Education Groups, Peer Support Groups, Life Skills Groups, Community Partnerships, Attending three (3) NA or AA Meetings, and Nonstrenuous Physical Activities. Breton House is a scent-free and smoke-free environment with a designated smoking area outside. To ensure safety of all, there is zero tolerance for use of any substances, violent threats or illegal activities. An immediate discharge will take place in the case of any of the listed actions above.
Admission Criteria
Individuals who are wanting to attend Breton House can call at any time to complete a screening form with any staff member on duty. Individuals will then receive a phone call within seven (7) days from a counsellor who will conduct a follow-up on the information that was given and create a meeting in which the Breton House program will be discussed. Meetings can either be in person or via Zoom.
To meet admission requirements chemical dependency must be an issue that is wanting to be worked on from an abstinence approach.
Key Points:
- Upon admission, medications are required to have all identifying factors which includes the medication name, your name, rx number, dosage and directives. OTC medications are required to have directives written by a pharmacist or doctor.
- Blister packs are required upon admission alongside refills.
- Methadone and Suboxone are required to be on a stable dose.
- If Breton House is unable to accommodate an admission, you will be put on a waitlist and contacted as a bed becomes available.
- Breton House requires a minimum commitment for three months and can stay up to one year if deemed necessary.
- Breton House is not a housing facility and does not have housing workers on site to assist in housing searches. Referrals can be made to community organizations that assist in housing.
- Breton House is not a trauma-focus facility, and individuals will be referred to outpatient trauma supports if required and requested.
